The legal framework for the implementation of a voluntary carbon market has been in force since 5 January 2024, as established by the law under discussion.
The aim is to create the conditions for the development of instruments that will help to respond to the national and international commitments made in the fight against climate change, namely the Paris Agreement, the Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality 2050, the National Energy and Climate Plan 2030 and the Basic Climate Law.
